Holistic, systemic, liberation.
Dr. Kristina Mendez is a trauma informed provider who specializes in working with chronic stress, trauma (ethnic and race based, intergenerational, sexual, migratory), life transitions, identity development and exploration, anxiety, and depressed mood.
She conceptualizes treatment from a feminist multicultural lens, which considers the many systems we navigate in our lives that can impact the symptoms we experience in our bodies and minds.
She works with clients ranging from early teens, college and grad students, young adults, early career professionals, and new parents. Dr. Mendez works with clients with intersecting and historically oppressed identities, including clients who identify as bicultural, biracial, BIPOC, POC, Latine/a/o/x, Chicane/a/o/x, LGBTQIA2S+, and first and second generation immigrants.
Treatment is a collaborative relationship, and Dr. Mendez regularly integrates holistic wellness expertise in mindfulness, yoga, and nature-based wellness into evidence-based therapy. She works with each client to identify their own authentic means of healing, including connection to ancestral wisdom.
